6 Meet our Team! 2016 UAPCS Staff Royce Van Tassell, Executive Director Tina Smith, Chief Operations OfÞcer Debby Llewelyn, Director of Training Jennifer Moulder, Program Coordinator Cate Klundt, Director of Communications Royce Van Tassell brings a wealth of experience to the Utah Association of Public Charter Schools, having previously served in a variety of positions with the Utah Taxpayers Association, Parents for Choice in Education, the American Civil Rights Institute and the Pacific Research Institute. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from BYU, and did graduate studies in political economy at Utah State University. Cate Klundt has been with UAPCS since 2015. Previous to that she graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Political Science. She began her career at the Utah House of Representatives and spent four years working first as a communications coordinator, and then as Deputy Press Secretary. During her time on Capitol Hill she worked closely with the House Education Committee, where she was introduced to the charter school movement. Tina has been involved in the charter school movement for the last 9 years. As a founding member a charter school, she has served in a variety of positions including President and Vice President of the Board of Trustees, Academic Advisor and Elementary Academic Advisor. Her educational experience includes pre-school teacher, French teacher and tutor, middle school Special Education, and overseas English teaching. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Humanities with a minor in French. Debby graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Family and Human Development. She is currently a licensed Social Worker for the state of Utah. Debby volunteers frequently at the charter school her children attend and has been actively involved with charter schools since 2006. She has served as FSO (PTO) chair as well as board chair at her children’s school. Jennifer Moulder has served on the Mountainville Academy Board of Trustees for six years including the positions of Secretary, Vice Chair and Chair. She continues to serve on the Governance Committee and Board of Advisors. She is excited to join UAPCS as the Program Coordinator in giving support to the charter school community in a way that has not been available before.
