5 D ear Fellow Educators, If you are reading this article, or are attending this year’s UAPCS Conference, it is because you are a key player in the exciting world of Utah charter schools! You are a charter administrator, a board member, a teacher, or one of the many other individuals working hard every day to make a difference in the lives of children. Each of you is making an important impact on student lives and we appreciate your dedication. Working in a charter school is both highly rewarding and highly challenging as we seek to bring new and innovative educational options to students through- out the state. The Utah Association of Public Charter Schools is here for you as a resource. Our goal at UAPCS is to be an organization that listens to the needs of you, the schools, and focuses our efforts to provide quality support based on your feedback. It is our sincere hope that all charter schools in Utah be highly successful in both providing diverse programs that bring choice to families and also in achieving outstanding academic results that prove their merits. To this end, UAPCS provides trainings in many areas of charter school management, from board governance, to finance, school leadership, and much more. Additionally, we support you at a state level, working with the Utah State Charter School Board and their staff whenever possible and advocating for charter schools wherever we can. I believe that one of the greatest contributions that UAPCS offers to our charter school community is this annual conference. It is a time for all of us to come together, to learn from one another, and to get inspired about the amazing educational options charter schools are providing for students in the state of Utah.
